1. Safety precautions

- Turn off the system and any attached peripherals.

- Disconnect the system and any attached peripherals from AC power.

- Disconnect any peripherals from the unit.

- Disconnect any telephone or telecommunications lines from the system.

- Use a wrist grounding strap and mat when working inside any computer system to avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.

- After removing any system component, carefully place the removed component on an anti-static mat.

- Wear shoes with non-conductive rubber soles to help reduce the chance of being shocked or seriously injured in an electrical accident.

2. Disassembly

1. Remove the battery

2. Remove the bottom cover

3. Remove the optical disk drive

4. Remove the keyboard

5. Disconnect the DMC card antenna.

6. Disconnect any antennas connected to installed wireless solutions.

7. Disconnect the IR emitter cable.

8. Disconnect the logo board cable

9. Disconnect the LVDS cable. If your unit comes with an LDPS cable, disconnect the LDPS cable

LVDS & LDPS: This is the main LCD cable, your unit will only have one of these two and the location is nearly the same.

10. Remove the cables and antennas from the routing channel

11. Remove the six screws securing the LCD assembly to the system.

12. Carefully lift up the LCD and remove it from the system
