What is happening?

The Audio codec suddenly disappear from “device manager” and the computer stays without an audio device, There is a red “X” and no “Audio Output Device is installed message” shown at the task bar.

The behavior appears randomly. Rebooting or reinstalling the Sound driver will make the sound card to show up again and work for a while until reoccurs.

In order to correct this, we recommend you to update the system BIOS to the latest version available and re-install the Sound Driver. If your system is up to date and this behavior persists, it indicates that your system may need to be serviced.
