1. How to Determine Your Browser and Version

The Web Browser market is an ever changing landscape. This article will discuss the most common browsers currently available. However please be aware that new browsers are always just over the horizon and may not have made this list yet.

You can determine the basic type of browser you are using by looking at the icon in the system tray at the bottom of your screen, in the Start Menu, on the Desktop or on your Task Bar :

Once you have determined the browser type, determine the version based on the instructions below :

Microsoft Edge (Windows 10)

  • In the browser window, click on the menu button in the top right hand side corner of the window. Click on Settings and look down the menu until you get to About this App. You can locate your version below this heading.

Internet Explorer

  • In the browser window, hold the Alt key and press "H" to bring up the Help menu. Click About Internet Explorer and locate the version at the top of the window that appears.

Mozilla Firefox

  • In the browser window, hold the Alt key and press "H" to bring up the Help menu. Click About Firefox and locate the version at the top of the window that appears.

Google Chrome

  • In the browser window, hold the Alt key and press "H" to bring up the Help menu. Click About Google Chrome and locate the version at the top of the window that appears.

Safari

  • In the browser window, click on the Tools Button at the top right of the app window. Click About Safari and locate the version in the window that appears.

Opera

  • In the browser window, you can hold the F1 key down to bring up the Help menu. However to locate the version of Opera click on first the Main Menu tab at the top left corner of the browser and then click on About opera near the bottom of the menu that appears.

Once you have identified your browser, click the link below that matches your browser type and version.
