Update the Firmware on Dell 2330d and 2330dn Laser Printers

Go to dell.com/support/home to download the latest firmware revision.

The package typically includes firmware for the 2330d and 2330dn, an update utility to transfer the update to the printer over USB, release notes and instructions.

Update the Firmware

To update via USB connection:
  1. If the update package is delivered as a compressed (*.zip) file, extract all files.
  2. Run the Firmware Update Utility. This may also be referred to as Firmware Download Utility (FDU).
  3. Click the Browse button to select the firmware to use. Firmware for the 2330d and 2330dn are included. Refer to the release notes to select the correct firmware for your printer. Firmware binaries have the file extension *.fls.
  4. Select your printer from the drop down list.
  5. Click Update.
  6. Wait for the printer to complete updating the firmware, progress will be displayed on the printer screen.
  7. Do not power off the printer until the update is complete and the screen displays Ready.

To update via Network connection:
  1. If the update package is delivered as a compressed (*.zip) file, extract all files.
  2. Open the printer Embedded Web Sever (EWS) page by entering the printer IP address in your browser.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Upgrade FW.
  5. Click the Browse button to select the firmware to use. Firmware for the 2330d and 2330dn are included. Refer to the release notes to select the correct firmware for your printer. Firmware binaries have the file extension *.fls.
  6. Click Submit.
  7. Wait for the printer to complete updating the firmware, progress will be displayed on the printer screen.
  8. Do not power off the printer until the update is complete and the screen displays Ready.
