Fixes & Enhancements
On Array Manager versions 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 3.2.0, 3.2.1,3.3.0 and 3.3.1, the SNMP service may crash when Array Manager is loaded on the system and the SNMP service is running. Traps may not go out if the Operating System Application Event Log is full and set to overwrite events. On version 3.3.0 and 3.3.1, the CPU may get overloaded when the Operating System Application Event Log is cleared. The root cause of the problem is the Array Manager SNMP extension agent, SNMPExt.dll.
Dell Technologies recommends reviewing this update to determine if it applies to your system. The update contains changes that impact only certain configurations or provides new features that may or may not apply to your environment.
1) Download amsnmpfx.exe from the suppport web site.
2) Double - Click on amsnmpfx.exe and specify a location to extract the files. By default, the patch will be automatically applied after extraction. If you do not want the patch to be automatically applied, uncheck the following option:
When done unzipping open: ./snmppatch.exe
3) If the option in (2) was checked, the SNMP patch has been applied and the update is complete. If not, snmpatch.exe can be run from the command line to apply the patch.
There are three options available:
a) SNMPPATCH [no options] - Copies the new files, makes a back up of the originals and, interactively asks the user if they want to restart the SNMP service.
(b) SNMPPATCH /C - Only copies the new files and makes a backup of the originals
(c) SNMPPATCH /S - Silent operation. Copies the new files, makes a backup of the originals and restarts the SNMP service without any user interaction.
Note: The changes do not take effect unless the SNMP service is restarted.
