AUTO INSTALLED This file was automatically installed as part of a recent update. If you are experiencing any issues, you can manually download and reinstall.
Dell OpenManage Server Administrator is a secure Web tool for managing
individual Dell(TM)PowerEdge(TM) servers. Using this tool, an
administrator with an Internet/intranet connection can manage the server
from any location using either a graphical user interface (GUI) that runs
in a Web browser or a command line interface (CLI) that is accessed
through the command prompt.
This also includes Remote Install 1.2 agents for PowerEdge 1655MC only. Note that in order to use the 1.2 agents, the user must also upgrade the Remote Install image server to the 1.2 version as well.

Fixes & Enhancements

WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 1.9 OF SERVER ADMINISTRATOR?

* Added support for the Dell PowerEdge(TM) 1850, 2800 and 2850 systems.

* This release of Server Administrator provides both a basic and an
enhanced Storage Management Service. The basic Storage Management
Service is the same service as provided with previous releases.
Array Manager is installed with the basic Storage Management
Service. The enhanced Storage Management Service replaces the
storage management and configuration features provided by Array
Manager. Unlike the basic Storage Management Service and Array
Manager, the enhanced Storage Management Service features are
accessible from the Server Administrator graphical and command line
interfaces.

* The following Diagnostic issues have been fixed in this release:

- Diagnostics reported a write-failure when the Format
Diagnostic Tape test was run with new media.

- Running Intel(R) and Broadcom vendor specific tests interrupted
the network connection.

* DRAC 4 — Provides remote management and access capabilities for systems. DRAC 4 allows you to install, configure, monitor, and recover failed servers remotely through a network, optional modem, or optional serial connection, even when the system is down. DRAC 4 is supported on the following Dell™ PowerEdge™ systems: 1850, 2800 and 2850.

* Storage Configuration Management — On systems running Microsoft® Windows® operating systems, you can either choose to install Dell OpenManage™ Storage Management or Array Manager on your system. If you install Storage Management as a part of Server Administrator, you will be able to receive configuration and status information. You will also be able to change the configuration of the RAID subsystem. If you install Array Manager, Server Administrator will display RAID configuration and status information.

NOTE: On systems running Microsoft Windows operating systems, if you choose the Express Setup option, Array Manager is installed as the default Storage Configuration Management application. However, you can choose to install Storage Management using the Custom Setup option. For more information about the Custom Setup option and for details on installing Storage Management by performing a Silent Install, see the Server Administrator User's Guide.

OpenManage Storage Management — Provides enhanced features for configuring a system's locally attached RAID and non-RAID disk storage. Storage Management allows you to perform controller and enclosure functions for all supported RAID and non-RAID controllers and enclosures from a single graphical or command line interface without the use of the controller BIOS utilities.

The Array Manager console (client software) is not replaced. Storage Management supports SCSI, SATA, and ATA. It does not support Fibre Channel.

NOTE: This release of Storage Management does not provide support for Microsoft Windows volume and disk management.
