Dell™ PowerEdge™ Diagnostics is a suite of diagnostic programs, or test modules, that run locally on your system. Note that this version of PowerEdge Diagnostics has been selected by the criteria entered into the download search engine. It may not be compatible with all other systems you have deployed. For a full list of systems supported by this version of PowerEdge Diagnostics, please scroll to the Compatibility section below.

You select diagnostics tests to run from the Diagnostic Selection tree containing the hardware that PowerEdge Diagnostics discovers on your system. You can select tests for various parts of a system and run them by clicking the Run Tests button in the Tests Selected tab. You can select to run the diagnostic tests in Normal or Quick Test mode and you can use the No. Passes field to run each test up to 20 passes.

You can use the Status tab to view the status of the running tests and abort or suspend diagnostic tests if the specific test supports this feature. To abort or suspend a test, highlight the test in the Status tab and right-click your mouse to bring up the Abort/Suspend/Abort All menu.

You can view the results for each individually selected test in the Results tab. To view the entire result message for a particular test, highlight both the device and the test and double-click your mouse. A message box displays the entire test results message.

You can delete a single test or all tests that have completed. To delete completed test(s), highlight the test result in the Results tab and right-click to bring up the Delete/Delete All Completed menu. The completed test(s) will be removed from the Status tab and the Results Tab.

To save the results and/or configuration information collected by PowerEdge Diagnostics, select Save Results or Save Configuration from the File menu. You will be prompted for a file name to use for archiving the information.

You can also use the Command Line Interface (CLI) to run diagnostic tests on the hardware that PowerEdge™ Diagnostics discovers on your system. To run the application in CLI mode, run pediags from \oldiags\bin, which should be the current working directory.
