Installation instructions
Unpack the Source Code Package
1. Copy the archive file to the Linux workstation and create a new folder somewhere on the file system (for example PCoIP_Host_SW_Release).
2. Extract the contents from the provided archive to the newly created directory.
Create a Binary RPM
1. Open a console and set the working directory to kernel/linux/scripts.
2. Create two new folders by entering the command "mkdir -p /root/rpmbuild/SOURCES" and "mkdir -p /root/rpmbuild/SPECS".
3. Log in as root. This is necessary when creating RPMs distributed outside of a company. When an RPM is created the userid of the person creating the RPM is the owner of the files in the ROM. Warning messages appear if an RPM is installed on systems that do not recognize the userid associated with the files. Creating the RPM as root avoids this warning.
4. Execute the createRPM script by entering the command "./createROM". The binary rpm is written to the kernel/linux/obj directory.
Installing PCoIP Host Software Binary RPM
Before installing the PCoIP host software, ensure no other copies of the software are installed by checking if the file pcoip_agent exists in the /usr/bin directory. If this file exists, remove it by logging in as the root and then at a shell prompt typing "rpm -e pcoip_host". Reboot the workstation to ensure the PCoIP host software is no longer running.
1. Open a console and set the working directory to kernel/linux/obj
2. Log in as root and enter the following command at a shell prompt "rpm -ivh pcoip_host-4.1-6.el6.x86-64.rpm".
3. Restart the system
4. After the system boots, start the Agent by executing the command "pcoip_agent" from a shell with non-root user.
