Format Description:
This file format consists of an archive of files that may be decompressed to a directory on the hard drive. The installation can then be done from that directory.
Instructions for loading driver =============================== 1. Download the .exe to a directory on your hard drive. The file download is a self-extracting executable.
2. Execute the download file that unzips the driver files to a floppy diskette.
NOTE: In order to create this diskette, this file must be downloaded to and executed on a system running Microsoft Windows.
There are two methods for installing the Novell NetWare drivers: .Fresh Installation of the Netware Driver .Adding the Netware Driver to an Existing Installation
FRESH INSTALLATION OF THE NETWARE DRIVER: Follow the instructions in the Novell NetWare Installation Guide to install NetWare on the server. 1. Boot to the Novell Netware OS CD 2. Follow the instructions on the screen until you reach the Storage Driver Support screen. This screen is used to add, change or delete drivers. 3. Select Storage Adapters on the Storage Driver Support screen. 4. Delete any existing adapters for which you are about to install. 5. Press "Insert" to add unlisted drivers. Press "Insert" again. A path displays. 6. Insert the driver diskette created above into the floppy drive and press "Enter". 7. The system finds the PEDGE3.HAM driver. 8. Return to the Driver Summary screen. Continue the installation.
ADDING THE NETWARE DRIVER TO AN EXISTING INSTALLATION: Follow the instructions to add the driver to an existing installation. 1. At the root prompt, type "NWCONFIG" and press "Enter". 2. The Installation Options screen displays. Select Drive Options and press "Enter". A window displays. 3. Select Configure Disk, and Storage Device Options. Press "Enter". 4. Select one of the following options displayed in the window: -Discover and load an additional driver -Select an additional driver 5. If you select the option to discover and load an additional driver, the system discovers the extra unit. You are prompted to select a driver from the list. Press "Insert" to insert the driver. This completes the procedure. 6. If you choose the option to select an additional driver, the Select a Driver screen displays. Press "Insert". Read the instructions that display. 7. Insert the driver diskette created above into the floppy drive and press "Enter". 8. The system will find a driver and install it.
Instructions for loading utilities ================================== The array management utility program DELLMGR and array monitor utility program DELLMON are included in this driver set. They will be automatically copied to the nwserver directory while the driver is loaded. To run each utility, type DELLMGR and DELLMON under Netware command line, respectively.
