Important Information

!!WARNING!! for systems with the QI DVD hardware decoder card & DVD drive !!WARNING!! BEFORE FLASHING BIOS READ STEPS BELOW CAREFULLY!! If your system contains the QI Cinemaster 1.2C Hardware DVD decoder card and you are running Win95 (or have upgraded your OS to Win98 but did not upgrade your DVD drivers to the Win98 WDM version), you must update your DVD driver before updating your system BIOS. If you do not, your system will *HANG* when it boots up. This DVD driver updated has been included in this download package. Install this driver before you upgrade your BIOS to version A09. Click on the start button, settings, control panel, and go to the Device Manager tab, double click on Sound, video and game controllers. Then select Cinemaster II and click on Properties. Select the Driver tab then click on Update Driver. Choose Yes (Recommended). Windows will search the floppy and then put up a message saying a driver could not be found. Click on the Other Locations button and then Browse. Then point it to the location of the downloaded files. After the files are loaded, Windows will ask to restart the computer. The DVD drivers are now loaded. To install the Flash Bios Update: Put a blank diskette into the A: Drive. (Make sure its formatted.) Now go to the directory that you downloaded the Dxxx_A09.EXE package to. Find the file, XPSD_A09.EXE and double click on it, or run it from a DOS prompt. This will create the bootable flash bios diskette for your computer. After the flash bios has completed, reboot the system with the disk in the A: drive, and it will flash the bios on your system. Follow the directions the flash bios disk gives you. When the flash is complete, reboot the system. Now the flash is complete. NOTES: When the system boots into Windows 9x, after the flash, it will redetect the hardware in the system. Do not be alarmed. This is normal operation. Let Windows reconfigure itself, and everything should run normally after the first boot. PCI Video Card Users: If you have replaced the AGP video card that came in your system with a PCI video card, you must do the following: After flashing the BIOS, you must go into setup immediately before the system boots into Windows 9x, and change the video setting from AGP, to PCI. Otherwise you will not have video when you load Windows.
