  Dell Online Instructions: 

* PLEASE PRINT THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS *

* Please note that if your drive is connected to an add-in or onboard controller designated for SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) then you will need to connect your drives to the onboard SATA controller to perform the update. *

(PLEASE DON'T INTERRUPT THE FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCESS)


For Bootable Diskette:

1. Perform a full backup of your data.
2. Click on the (BR213715.EXE) file and select ""RUN"" then ""RUN"" again.
3. Choose ""Continue"" in the next window to create a bootable 
floppy.
4. Close all applications and restart system.
5. Press F12 and insert the floppy disk containing the firmware update.
6. Select boot from Floppy. 
7. The Seagate Firmware Update will start automatically.
8. The utility will autoscan and update the appropiate Seagate ST3500620AS. 
9. Once completed, a message indicating process completion will appear.
10. Remove the floppy diskette and power offyour system.
11. Power on your system to continue normal operation.

1. Perform a full backup of your data.
2. Click on the (R213715.EXE) file and select ""RUN"" then ""RUN"" again.
3. Press ""Continue"" then ""OK"" to extract the files to the provided location.
4. Refer to your CD burning application instructions to create a bootable CD using the provided file ""C:\DELL\Drivers\R213715\CD Image\Seagate Utility.ISO"".
5. Restart your system.
6. Press F12 and insert the CD containing the firmware update.
7. Select boot from CD/DVD. 
8. The Seagate utility will start automatically.
9. The utility will autoscan and update the appropiate Seagate ST3500620AS.
10. Once completed, a message indicating process completion will appear.
11. Remove the CD and power off your PC. 
12. Power on your PC to continue normal operation.

For Bootable USB key option

1. Perform a full backup of your data.
2. Click on the (R213715.EXE) file and select ""RUN"" then ""RUN"" again.
3. Press ""Continue"" then ""OK"" to extract the files to the provided location.
4. The files are located in ""C:\DELL\Drivers\R213715\Files"" directory.
5. Add the files to your bootable USB key.
6. Restart your system.
7. Insert your USB key containing the firmware update.
8. Press F12 and choose boot from USB
9. The Seagate utility will start automatically.
10. The utility will autoscan and update the appropiate Seagate ST3500620AS.
11. Once completed, a message indicating process completion will appear.
12. Remove the Bootable Media and power off your system.
