Important Information

Before updating the SAS controller firmware using the DUP package in a Linux system, it is necessary to upgrade the SAS controller driver. Executing the SAS controller firmware DUP update while running a native Linux driver may cause the system/data volumes on the SAS controller to become inaccessible or Read-Only. The recommended steps to update the SAS controller using the firmware DUP package on a Linux system to this new software level are as follows: 1.- Upgrade the driver 2.- Reboot the system 3.- Upgrade the firmware 4.- Reboot the system The problem does not occur if the SAS controller FW is updated from a bootable device (non Linux environment). To install using update packages, please make sure that SAS 5/E drivers are at the following minimum levels: W2k - 1.21.26 W2k3 - 1.21.26 RHEL3 - 2.06.48.02 RHEL4 - 3.02.83.04 SLES9 - 3.02.83.04 SLES10 - 3.03.17
