This is the intitial MIB release for the PowerConnect 5212 switch.
Management information bases (MIBs) are a collection of definitions, which
define the properties of the managed object within the device to be
managed. Every managed device keeps a database of values for each of the
definitions written in the MIB. It is not the actual database itself - it
is implementation dependant. Definition of the MIB conforms to the SMI
given in RFC 1155. Internet MIB is given in RFC 1213 sometimes
called the MIB-II

Dell recommends the customer review specifics about the update to determine if it applies to your system. The update contains changes that impact only certain configurations, or provides new features that may/may not apply to your environment.
Important Information
To use these MIB's you will need to import them into your current Network
Management software. This should be done in the manner that the vendor's
helps file instructs.

Installation Instructions
Custom Instructions for R74249.EXE:
Note: In order to execute this file, it must be downloaded to a system running Microsoft Windows with an unzip utility installed.
Download
1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file.
2. If the Export Compliance Disclaimer window appears, click the "I agree" link to accept the agreement.
3. When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the file to your hard drive.
Extract Files
1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package
2. Click Continue.
3. Specify the location to unzip the files.
4. Click on the OK button to extract files.
5. After a few seconds a dialog box will appear that says that all files were successfully unzipped. Click OK to exit from the installer.
Installation
1. Click the Start button and then click Run.
2. Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R74249 in the Open textbox and then click OK.
3. User your third party SNMP software to further install the MIB's.
