Dell Management Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, v.4.0, A00
The Dell Server Management Pack Suite v4.0 for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager R2, System Center Operations Manager SP1 and System Center Essentials SP1, integrate Dell Servers, Dell Remote Access Controller and Dell Chassis Management Controller monitoring into Operations Manager. The Management Packs provide a list of Dell-specific views that you can use to observe and drill down the system status in a network.
The version 4.0 release consists of four Management Packs:
1) Dell Windows Server Scalabe Management Pack (Dell.WindowsServer.Scalable.mp) for a light weight scalable server discovery and monitoring of Dell Systems.
2) Dell Windows Server Detailed Management Pack (Dell.WindowsServer.Detailed.mp) for a detailed discovery and monitoring of Dell Servers and its components.
3) Dell Remote Access Controller Management Pack (Dell.OutOfBand.DRAC.mp) for discovery, monitoring and trap processing of Dell Remote Access 4, Dell Remote Access Controller 5 and Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 6.
4) Dell Chassis Management Controller Management Pack (Dell.OutOfBand.CMC.mp) for discovery, monitoring, and trap processing of Chassis Management Controllers and Dell Modular Chassis Remote Access Controllers.
And two utilities:
1) Dell Base folder utility (Dell.Connections.HardwareLibrary.mp) for the basic folder structure and Root node.
2) Dell Overrides utility (Dell.WindowsServer.InformationAlertsOn.mp) for turning ON the Informational Alerts provided in the Dell Windows Server Scalable Management Pack.

Description

Dell recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains feature enhancements or changes that will help keep your system software current and compatible with other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers and software).
Important Information
* Dell Management Pack version 4.0 is supported on System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2/SP1 and System Center Essentials 2007 SP1 only. It does not function with prior releases of the MOM product.
* Upgrades from previous Dell MP v 3.x to Dell MP v4.0 are not supported.

- DRAC and CMC MPs to monitor Dell Remote Access Controllers and Chassis Management Controllers
- Override utility to enable Informational alerts for managed Dell Servers
Installation Instructions
Custom Instructions for Dell_Server_Management_Pack_Suite_v4.0_A00.exe:
1. Download the file to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable.
2. Go to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the executable to unzip the files. The default extraction folder is "C:\Dell Management Packs\Server Mgmt Suite\4.0". You may select a different location for file extraction by editing the path.
3. Follow the installation instructions in the User Guide and readme file included.
