Important Information

This tool is meant only for the removal of the afamgt.sys filter driver from a Windows 2003 system if the upgrade to Windows Server 2008 fails because of this filter driver. It is not intended for any other use.

Installation instructions

Instructions for Filter_Driver_Removal_Tool.msi

1. Click the Download Now link to download the file. 
2. When the File Download window appears, click Save to save the file to your hard drive. 

Extract Files 
1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package. 
2. Specify the location to unzip the files. 
3. Click on the unzip button to extract files. 

1)Download and save the file "Filter Driver Removal Tool.msi" to your hard drive.
2)Double click on the downloaded file.  The installer will start.  Click “Next” when prompted.
3)The utility will scan your system for the presence of the filter driver and will display a message with the results.
4)If the Filter Driver is present, the utility will ask for user confirmation before removing the driver.
5)If the Filter Driver is not present then the utility will display a message stating that the driver is not present.
6)When the utility has completed its tasks, click “Finish” to exit.
