Microsoft Windows 2000 for Network-Attached Storage 2.01 Service Pack 1a (SP1a) is an update to Windows Powered Network-Attached Storage 2.01 and Microsoft Server Appliance Kit 2.01 for network-attached storage devices.

Important Information

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS Following are the requirements to install Windows 2000 NAS 2.01 SP1: 1. Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) or later is installed. 2. Server Appliance Kit version 2.01 is installed. 3. If Server Appliance Kit version 2.0 Build 2204 is installed, that build corresponds to Server Appliance Kit 2.01 4. If Services for UNIX is installed, Services for UNIX version 2.2 with update Q327473 is required. 5. If Services for NetWare is installed, Services for NetWare version 5.02 or later is recommended.

Services for UNIX now allows you to edit share properties during a file copy. You must now use an HTTPS site to administer Windows Powered Network-Attached Storage (NAS) by using the Windows Powered NAS Web user interface (UI). You can now configure security settings for the HTTP sharing protocol by using the Windows Powered NAS Web UI.

Download

  1. Click the Download Now link to download the file.

  2. If the Export Compliance Disclaimer window appears, click the I agree link to accept the agreement.
    3. 

  3. When the File Download window appears, click Save to save the file to your hard drive.


Installing the Service Pack 
Do not use the SAK 2.01 software update feature to install Windows 2000 for NAS 2.01 SP1.

    

  1. To install Windows 2000 for NAS 2.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on an existing network-attached 
    storage server, you must copy the Nas2sp1a.exe file to NAS system you plan on upgrading.
    2. 

  2. Use Terminal Services to connect to the computer or log in locally, and then run the .exe file. 
    3.

1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file NAS2SP1a_Readme.txt.
