Fixes & Enhancements
Several Seagate drives shipped from Dell factories between February 2nd and February 20th may experience the following symptoms:
A) During an install from System Management Tool and Documentation DVD:
1. If there is no RAID config from ctrl-r and the DVD is booted it will display a blank white screen where there should be array configuration setup.
2. If there is a RAID config from ctrl-r already present on the drives, it will boot to the SMTD DVD but skip the RAID config screen. The menu item for RAID config in the left window will not appear in the action list. Install can be completed using this method.
B) Enclosure or server hard drives are being configured or added in an existing Linux install:
The drives my not be seen in the Linux browser that is using Open Manage Storage Management to configure the drives. Or, the Vendor ID for the disk drive may appear with garbled characters.
The FW version on the drive label will represent the correct firmware version; however, a later version was flashed to the drive in the factory.
