Physical Disk Firmware Version Report - hddfwver.csv report compares the current running firmware against a list of current firmware for shipping and legacy Dell drive models. Note: The comparison is only as up-to-date as the compare file. The hddfwver.csv can be downloaded to update OMSA with the latest list of available HDD / SSD firmware updates.

Description
This is a general maintenance release for SAS and SATA drives. It is a re-release of the previous version with additional firmware updates.
Level of Importance:Recommended
Dell recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains feature enhancements or changes that will help keep your system software current and compatible with other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers and software).
Important Information
"This release is intended for use on drives attached to SAS/ PERC controllers and MD1000, MD1120, MD1200 and MD1220 Enclosures. To update drives attached to MD3000 and MD3000i enclosures, use R291590"
Please note: Only Dell Branded SAS/SCSI, PERC and embedded ICH controllers are supported.
On drives attached to PERC5/PERC6 controllers, the first drive to be updated requires a 5 minute delay before firmware flash to begin. Do not power cycle or reboot your system while the update is in progress.

Installation Instructions
Download
1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the file to your hard drive.
Installation
1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file.
2. Read over the release information presented in the dialog window.
3. Download and install any prerequisites identified in the dialog window before proceeding.
4. Click the Install button.
5. Follow the remaining prompts to perform the update.
Detailed Instructions
1) Click Download now.
The File Download window appears.
2) Click the Save button.
The Save As window appears.
3) Select Desktop using the drop-down menu to the right of Save in.
4) Click the Save button.
A progress meter moves as the download is completed.
5) If necessary, click X in the upper right-hand corner of the Download Progress Window to close it upon completion.
6) Double click the Icon on your desktop for the newly saved file.
