Format Description:
This file format consists of an archive of files that may be decompressed to a directory on the hard drive. The installation can then be done from that directory.

MD1000 A03 or later firmware is required to support MD3000i expansion with MD1000. It is critical that MD1000 EMMs are flashed behind the PERC adapter prior to expanding behind the MD3000i system. See MD3000i Installation Guide for more details regarding expansion.
Please refer to the "Upgrading to SATA on MD3000i" document for information regarding updating existing MD3000i storage enclosures to support SATA II physical disks. This document is available on http://support.dell.com

NOTICE: Microsoft cluster solution firmware download performing I/O is running may terminate I/O. It is therefore recommended to perform firmware download as an off-line maintenance event.
Windows Operating System Zip File Extraction Instructions: 1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to extract the download package (a separate utility will be required for Windows 2000). 2. Extract the files to a desired location. After the files are extracted you will be informed of successful file extraction. 3. Exit the Zip file extraction utility, and/or navigate to file extraction location. 4. Follow the instructions in the readme.txt for installing or upgrading the firmware on the Powervault MD3000i storage system.
Linux Operating System Zip File Extraction Instructions: 1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and extract the files with desired compression utility. 2. Extract the files to a desired location. Example: Using the “unzip” utility to extract the files to the current directory could be achieved by using the following command: “unzip R191137.zip”. 3. Navigate to file extraction location. 4. Follow the instructions in the readme.txt for installing or upgrading the firmware on the Powervault MD3000i storage system.
