Upgrading NetWare 5.x Device Drivers

To upgrade the perc2.ham driver for the controller on a

begin, make a backup copy of the old driver before
installing the new driver. Note, however, that during the
upgrade, you are prompted to save the current driver files.

1. At the NetWare console prompt, type the following
command:

YOUR_SERVER_PROMPT> load nwconfig

2. Select "Driver Options" and press "Enter".

press "Enter".

4. From the "Additional Driver Action" menu, select
"Select an additional driver" and press "Enter".

5. Check that the proper driver for any on-board SCSI
controller is installed.

If the on-board driver has not been installed, install
it before installing the NetWare driver for the
controller. Refer to your DELL server documentation
for further information.

6. Insert the diskette that contains the driver for
NetWare V5.0 or NetWare V5.1 into the floppy drive and
press the "Insert" key.

perc2.ham?"

10. Specify the path where you want the perc2.ham
installed or press "Enter" to accept the default.

11. You will be prompted to save the existing driver and
its attendant files. Answer "Yes" to these prompts.

12. Press to exit NWConfig and return to the
System Console.

14. At the console prompt, type "unload perc2.ham"
and press "Enter", then type "load perc2.ham"
