Dell PowerApp.cache KickStart, v. 1.1, A01

AUTO INSTALLED This file was automatically installed as part of a recent update. If you are experiencing any issues, you can manually download and reinstall.
This release will create a Kick-Start 1.1 floppy disk for use with the
initial configuration of Dell PowerApp.cache version 1.3. The Kick-Start
utility disk is shipped with all Dell PowerApp.cache appliance servers and
is used to configure the initial IP address and gateway of the appliance
without having to connect the appliance to a keyboard or monitor. This
floppy disk includes a Java-enabled web applet which you execute on any
browser. The applet creates a configuration on the flopppy which -when
inserted into the appliance- makes the configuration changes. Further
configuration of the appliance is then performed using a web browser over
the network. For more information, see the Dell PowerApp.cache Software
Installation Guide.

Fixes & Enhancements

The version (1.1) of Kick-Start differs from the pervious (1.0) version in
that it causes the appliance to automatically restart after intial
configuration changes are made. This restart is necessary for the
appliance to function properly with PowerApp.cache 1.3r1 software. The
floppy also has an enhancement so that if it is left in the appliance's
floppy drive when the appliance reboots, the appliance will bypass the
floppy and boot from the hard drive. This behavior is helpful when the
administrator has forgotten to remove the Kick-Start diskette from the
appliance and it is later rebooted.
