Chassis Management Controller (CMC) Version 3.10
Level of Importance:Recommended
Dell recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains feature enhancements or changes that will help keep your system software current and compatible with other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers and software).
Important Information
NOTE: when upgrading to CMC 3.10 in a redundant CMC configuration, you must select to upgrade either both CMCs, or the standby CMC first. Do not upgrade the active CMC first.

Fixes and Enhancements in Version 3.10

* Multi-chassis management that allows up to 8 other chassis to be visible
from the lead chassis.
* Power log feature that periodically samples and displays chassis
system input power (total AC consumption).
* Server Performance over Power Redundancy, which when enabled,
favors server performance and server powerup, over maintaining power
redundancy. When disabled, the system favors power redundancy over
server performance.
* Provides option to use the chassis in Maximum Power Conservation
Mode to extend power life while running on UPS or other backup power
sources.
* Save and restore configuration on a host.
* Improvement of SEL log.
* GPL/Open Source compliant.
* Dell 8/4 Gpbs Fibre Channel Pass Thru IOM.
* Dell M8428-k IOM.
* Brocade BR1741M-k Dual Port Mezzanine Card.
Installation Instructions
Instructions for CMC3_10_A00_README.TXT:
1) Click Download now.
The File Download window appears.
2) Click the Save button.
The Save As window appears.
3) Select Desktop using the drop-down menu to the right of Save in.
4) Click the Save button.
A progress meter moves as the download is completed.
5) If necessary, click X in the upper right-hand corner of the Download Progress Window to close it upon completion.
6) Double click the Icon on your desktop for the newly saved file.
The Dell Bios Release Notes window appears.

1. Click the Download Now link to download the file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click Save to save the file to your hard drive.
Extract Files
1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package.
2. Specify the location to unzip the files.
3. Click on the unzip button to extract files.
