The Dell™ PowerVault™ PV 745N Operating System (OS) image contains OpenManage™ 4.1, but the Reinstallation CDs contain an earlier version of OpenManage™.
When performing a system state restore, the OpenManage™ software on the system must match the OpenManage™ software version in the backup.
Since the OpenManage™ software on the OS image does not match the software version on CD issues may arise if all of the following steps are taken: 1. System state backup is performed on a PV 745N with NAS System Version 3.4.9.0 build 1029. 2. OS image is restored using Reinstallation CDs 3.4.9.0. 3. Restore the backup taken in step 1.
This patch is intended to be installed after reinstalling the Operating System and prior to restoring the system state backup. The patch installs Dell™ OpenManage™ software version 4.1.
