Dell OpenManage Enterprise for VMWare vSphere*
1. Download openmanage_enterprise_ovf_format.zip and extract into a temporary folder.
2. Load VMWare vSphere Client.
3. Connect to vSphere.
4. Under the File menu choose "Deploy OVF Template".
5. Navigate to the extracted OVF file (openmanage_enterprise.x86_64-0.0.1.ovf).
6. Choose options appropriate to your vSphere configuration for "Name and Location", "Host / Cluster", "Resource Pool"
7. On the "Disk Format" page, you can choose thick provisioning for maximum performance, or thin provisioning to only utilize disk space actually used by the appliance. Note: thick provisioned disk will take approximately 200 gigabytes of space.
8. Choose options appropriate to your vSphere configuration for "Network Mapping".
9. Complete the wizard, and start the OpenManage Enterprise appliance.
10. Accept the EULA.
11. Set the admin password.
12. Configure network parameters for the appliance.
13. Load web console in a supported browser.
* Note: OpenManage Enterprise may be imported into other platforms supporting Open Virtualization Format. Please refer to instructions to your specific platform for import, and ensure you choose at least 4 virtual CPUs and 8 gigabytes of RAM.

Dell OpenManage Enterprise for Microsoft HyperV (Standalone server scenario)
1. Download openmanage_enterprise_vhd_format.zip and extract into a temporary folder.
2. Load Hyper-V Manager.
3. Navigate to the host you wish to import the virtual machine.
4. Choose "import virtual machine".
5. Navigate to the folder extracted in step 1, and choose the subfolder entitled "openmanage_enterprise".
6. On the "Choose Import Type" page, ensure you have chosen "Copy the virtual machine (create a new unique ID)".
7. Store the virtual machine files in the locations of your choosing.
8. After finishing creating the virtual machine, open virtual machine settings, and ensure the network adapter is bound to the appropriate virtual switch. Note: Failing to do this can result in an infrastructure error configuring network settings in step 12.
9. Start the OpenManage Enterprise appliance.
10. Accept the EULA
11. Set the admin password
12. Configure network parameters for the appliance.
13. Load web console in a supported browser.

Dell OpenManage Enterprise for KVM based installations
1. Download openmanage_enterprise_kvm_format.zip and extract into a temporary folder.
2. Using the hypervisor manager of your choice, import "openmanage_enterprise.qcow2".
3. Ensure you allocate at least 4 virtual CPUs and 8 gigabytes of RAM.
4. Start the OpenManage Enterprise appliance.
5. Accept the EULA
6. Set the admin password
7. Configure network parameters for the appliance.
8. Load web console in a supported browser.
