Follow the below steps to rebuild the Optane cache successfully if Intel Optane Cache memory module is installed on your system:

Impacted platform: System which uses Intel RST driver v16.0.2.1086 with Optane feature enabled.

Solution: Need to follow below three phases to upgrade Intel RST driver to v16.7.1.1020 or newer.

Phase 1: Disable Intel Optane memory volume.
Phase 2: Upgrade RST and user interface to v16.7.1.1012 or newer.
Phase 3: Enable Intel Optane memory volume.

Phase 1: Disable Intel Optane memory volume.
For systems with Intel Rapid Storage Technology UI
1. Click Disable button in Intel Optane Memory tab to start the disabling process.
2. Click Yes when prompted.
3. Click Reboot to complete the process.

Follow Intel RST UI to update Intel RST driver.

Phase 2: Upgrade RST driver and user interface to 16.7.1.1020 or newer.
1. Download the executable file of the latest driver from Dell.com.
2. Double-Click the executable file and then follow the driver install steps to update driver.
3. Reboot system when the driver install finish.


Phase 3: Enable Intel Optane Memory Volume.
For systems with Intel Rapid Storage Technology UI
1. Click Enable button in Intel Optane Memory tab to start the enabling process.
2. Select the drive to be accelerated and click Yes to continue.
3. Click Reboot to complete the process.
