Format Description:
This file format consists of an archive of files that may be decompressed to a directory on the hard drive. The installation can then be done from that directory.
#################################################################### USAGE OF POWEREDGE DRIVER MAINTENANCE PACK IN POST-OS ENVIRONMENT - USER INTERACTIVE #####################################################################
1. Download the driver pack exe file from the Dell Support website at "support.dell.com".
2. Double-click the .exe file to begin installation. The "WinZip driver extraction and apply" wizard appears.
3. Select "Overwrite files without prompting" and then, "When done zipping open: DellOsDriverInstall.bat".
NOTE: By default, the "Overwrite files without prompting" and "When done zipping open:DellOsDriverInstall.bat" checkboxes are selected.
4. Click "unzip". The files successfully unzipped message is displayed.
5. Click "OK" to finish.
Command line console appears indicating that "system driver update" in progress.
Log location is displayed once the drivers are applied.
NOTE: Console is closed automatically once the drivers are installed.
NOTE: Logs are created in the directory where exe content was extracted.
NOTE: Drivers are deleted after installation.
##################################################################### USAGE OF POWEREDGE DRIVER MAINTENANCE PACK IN POST-OS ENVIRONMENT - SILENT INSTALL #####################################################################
1. Download the driver pack exe file from the Dell Support website at "support.dell.com".
2. Run the exe with /auto option. The content is extracted in the default destination directory (c:\dell\osdriverset ).
NOTE: If the default destination folder already contains the unzipped contents, by default, the files are overwritten.
3. Logs are created in the directory where exe content was extracted.
4. Drivers are deleted after installation.
##################################################################### HOW TO CUSTOMIZE POWEREDGE DRIVER MAINTENANCE PACK #####################################################################
1. Double click the .exe file.
2. Uncheck the "When done unzipping open:DellOsDriverInstall.bat" checkbox.
By default the location is marked as "%OSinstalled drive%:\Dell\OSDriversSet".
3. click "Unzip".
4. Browse to the drivers folder in the extracted directory and delete drivers that are not required to be installed.
5. Run the "DellOsDriverInstall.bat" file. Drivers present in the drivers folder are applied.
