Untar and unzip the file to a local hard drive or other storage media using tar -xzvf [filename] /directory. Change to the directory where the archive was unpacked then change to the directory that corresponds to the Linux distribution to be used, then to the NetXtreme or NetXtremeII directory and then to the version of distribution if needed. Once the RPM is found for the driver install, execute the rpm program on the rpm file to install the drivers.

NetXtreme devices are typically 1 Gigabit devices. NetXtremeII devices are typically 10 Gigabit devices, but some NetXtremeII devices may be 1 Gigabit. Installing both RPMs may be necessary to ensure drivers are installed for your specific device.
