For RHEL 5.4 and SLES10 SP3, the native driver is supported. Using OS image to install first and then upgrading to this driver by using the dkms rpm files in this release is supported.

Installation Instructions

Driver Package
The driver package is a compressed tar file.
1) To extract the components within the tar file, un-tar the files:
tar -xvzf R255092-mpt2sas-02.00.02.00-2.tar.gz
2) Extracted files should contain the following:
dkms rpm dkms-2.0.21.1-1.noarch.rpm
driver rpm mpt2sas-02.00.02.00-2dkms.noarch.rpm
source code mpt2sas-02.00.02.00-src.tar.gz
driver disk image mpt2sas-02.00.02.00-2-sles11.x86_64.dd
driver disk image mpt2sas-02.00.02.00-2-rhel5.3.x86_64.img

Adding or Updating the Driver on a System.
1) Install the DKMS rpm package if needed. Use this command:
2) rpm -ivh dkms-2.0.21.1-1.noarch.rpm NOTE: Use rpm -Uvh dkms-2.0.21.1-1.noarch.rpm when updating an existing package.
3) Install the Driver package. Use this command
4) rpm -Uvh mpt2sas-02.00.02.00-2dkms.noarch.rpm
5) Verify the driver has been loaded with this system command:
modinfo mpt2sas
and this dkms command:
dkms status
