You can continue to manage any number of devices when upgrading from previous versions containing previously discovered devices, but will be required to purchase an additional license to discover additional devices. If after an upgrade you have more devices discovered than you have a license for, you will only be able to remove the devices and not be allowed to add any device until you drop below the license limit (unless you purchase an additional license). Once the number of devices fall below the licensed amount, the license limit goes into effect.

With 4.x versions, unless you purchase and install an additional license, OpenManage Network Manager 4.x will limit the number of devices you can manage to 10. If you have not installed an additional license or choose not to purchase additional licenses at this time, you can still upgrade to this version and retain/manage all of your previously discovered devices. However, you will not be able to discover any additional devices including newly supported devices unless you are below your installed license limit. Also, each time you remove a device from discovered devices, you will not be allowed to add the device back unless you are below the installed license limit.
