Custom Instructions for R74063.EXE:

Overview
Dell™ Device Managers installation uses a self-extracting exe from which you will run setup.exe. This document provides instructions for downloading the file and installing the program.

Download
1. Go to www.dell.com/emc/visualsan and click the link Download the Dell Device Managers Plug-In for EMC VisualSAN now.

2. Click the R74063.exe link.

3. When prompted, click Download Now.

4. If the Export Compliance Disclaimer window appears, click Yes, I Accept this Agreement.

5. When the File Download window appears, click Save or Save this program to disk and click OK.

6. When the Save In window appears, select Desktop from the Save In drop-down menu to download the file to your desktop.

7. If the Download Complete window appears, click Close.
The file icon appears on your desktop.

Installation
1. Double-click the R74063.exe file on the desktop.

2. When the Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract the file to c:\dell\drivers\R74063, write down the name of the path to where the file is extracted so that you can find the setup.exe file later.

3. Click OK.

4. After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it.

5. Click the Start button and then click Run.

6. Enter c:\dell\drivers\R74063 in the Open text box and then click OK.

7. When the Welcome screen appears, click OK to display the license agreement screen.

8. Read the license agreement, using the scroll bar or key to navigate and read the rest of the agreement, and click Yes to accept the agreement.

A message warns to close VisualSAN windows before proceeding with the installation.

9. Close any open VisualSAN windows, and then click OK to continue the installation

A screen appears providing two options: Management Station and Managed Node. You can find more information about the selected option on the top of the screen by clicking the Management Station option or the Managed Node option.

You can also view the release notes or installation guide by clicking the appropriate buttons. You can choose Cancel at any time to exit the installation.

10. Continue the installation. See "Management Station" or "Managed Node" for more information.

Management Station
-------------------------
1. During setup, choose Management Station and click Next to install the program on the EMC® VisualSAN® management station.

During the dependency check, if all the dependencies are met, a green check appears next to the component in the component list. If a red mark appears next to the component, follow the instructions in the result window to obtain more information about the failure and take necessary action before continuing with installation.

If necessary, click Back and take the necessary steps to satisfy all the dependencies and restart the installation.

2. Click Next to continue.

The installation result window displays messages if the installation was successful or if it failed.

Managed Node
------------------
Managed Node software components are only required to be installed on a host in the following scenarios:

Managed Node is zoned to a PowerVault 120T tape autoloader or PowerVault 130T tape library.

Managed Node is a cluster node (For EMC VisualSAN 3.x support only; not required for EMC VisualSAN 4.0.0).

Managed Node is zoned to a PowerVault 650F disk processor enclosure (DPE).

Managed Node has a QLA2200 host bus adapter (HBA).

Read the description for each component below to determine if you need to install that component on the managed node.

Cluster SNMP Agent (For EMC VisualSAN 3.x support only. Not required for EMC VisualSAN 4.0.0)
