Additional details

Show All | Hide All
This BIOS release includes an update for a correctable single bit error rate issue on one specific set of industry-standard memory DIMMs shipped in Dell systems between July 2010 and October 2010. These DIMMs may result in an increased rate of E2111 (correctable memory errors).

For affected systems, this BIOS update has an impact on power savings. This BIOS modifies DIMM power management settings for specific configurations, only those with the potentially affected DIMMs, to eliminate the condition which can cause excessive errors. This BIOS may disable the Package C6 power state. Disabling the Package C6 power state will result in increased system power consumption at system idle, but will not impact system runtime power consumption. The BIOS update will not modify DIMM power management for systems that do not have the affected DIMMs.
