File Format:Flash BIOS executable
File Name:C800_A10.EXE
File Size:353.95 KB
This is a large file. Depending on your connection speed, it may take some time to download.
Format Description:
This file format consists of a BIOS-executable file. To use it, download the file and copy it to a DOS-bootable USB flash drive, then boot the system to the USB flash drive and run the program.
This is a self-extracting file that contains the A10 System BIOS for the Latitude C800 notebook. After downloading, run the C800-A10.EXE file from within Windows ONLY, and it will create the bootable BIOS disk. Reboot the system with this disk in the A: drive to flash the system BIOS.
CAUTION: One of two error conditions may be encountered when attempting to upgrade the Dell Latitude C800 BIOS without using the Dell BIOS Upgrade Disk image.
1. "Program too big to fit in memory" This occurs when using the c800_[version].exe flash program in conjunction with DOS versions newer than 6.22. 2. "Error! Make sure the file c800_[version].exe is in the current device A:" This error occurs when using the upgrade.exe program to launch the BIOS flash program in conjunction with DOS versions newer than 6.22.
Both error messages occur because not enough free RAM exists in DOS versions newer than 6.22 for the programs to successfully execute. To avoid these error messages use the Dell BIOS Upgrade Disk to flash the system.
