In environments managed by IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus, Dell OpenManage Connection version 2.1 for IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus 7.3.1 and 7.4 provides event monitoring capabilities for Dell PowerEdge Servers (9G-12G), Dell PowerVault Storage Servers (9G-12G), Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 7 (iDRAC7), Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 6 (iDRAC6), Dell Remote Access Controller 5 (DRAC5), Dell PowerEdge M1000e Chassis (CMC), Dell PowerEdge VRTX (VRTX CMC), Dell PowerEdge 1955 Chassis (DRAC/MC), Dell EqualLogic Storage Arrays PS Series, and Dell PowerVault MD Storage Arrays. This connection software also supports one-to-one console launch of above Dell devices and Dell Tools launch (OME) from Dell device alerts and polled events in OMNIbus console.

5. Support for Dell Modular Disk Storage Manager console (MDSM) launch.
6. Support for Dell Connection License Manager console (DCLM) launch.
7. Simplified installation of Dell OpenManage connection.

Fixes
The following Dell Server alerts are displayed on the OMNIbus console with severity as "Indeterminate" and group as "DellServerAdministratorStorageMgmt"
- An EMM has been removed
- An EMM has been inserted

In the OMNIbus Console, the following Dell 12G out-of-band server Traps are displayed with severity as "Indeterminate" and group as "DellOOBServer" (group should ideally display respective object names, instead of "DellOOBServer").

- Battery Object Traps
- BAT1000 : Battery on is missing.
- BAT1008 : Write policy on was changed to Write Through.
- BAT1021 : The charge level for the battery on is below the normal threshold.
- BAT1024 : Errors detected with battery on .
- BAT1025 : is unable to recover cached data from the Battery Backup Unit (BBU).
- BAT1033 : The battery on was removed.

- Controller Object Traps
- CTL48 : A foreign configuration was detected on .
- CTL72 : The foreign configuration overflow has occurred on .
- CTL73 : Foreign configuration is imported only partially. Some configurations failed to import on .

- PhysicalDisk Object Traps
- PDR73 : Copyback failed from to .
- PDR85 : Security subsystem errors detected for .
- PDR86 : Bad block table on is full.
- PDR95 : Microcode update on has failed.

- PowerSupply Object Traps
- PSU1 : Power supply in was disrupted.
- PSU2 : The power supply in is switched OFF.
- PSU11 : Power supply in has failed.

Download
1. From dell.com/support, download the Dell_OpenManage_Connection_for_OMNIbus_v2_1.zip file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click Save to save the file to your hard drive.

Extract Files
1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package.
2. Click Continue.
3. Specify the location to unzip the files.
4. Click OK to extract files. After the files are extracted the message all files were successfully unzipped will appear.
5. Click OK to exit from the installer.

Install
1. Follow the installation instructions in the Installation Guide to install the Dell OpenManage Connection v2.1.
