* ATI Radeon X300 SE firmware update for customers who are experiencing a blank screen issue with the Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW 20.1-inch Wide Aspect Flat Panel LCD. (Customers with other monitors should not apply this update.)
* A brief description of the firmware update procedure: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1) Turn your system off before changing the monitor cable. 2) The 2005FPW blank screen issue only occurs if you use the DVI cable (white connector). Connect the VGA cable (blue connector) to your system and disconnect the DVI cable (white connector). 3) Turn your system on. Complete the setup process if this is your first time to turn the system on. 4) Download R103296.exe to your hard drive. 5) Double-click on this utility (R103296) to unzip the files. 6) When all files have been successfully unzipped, click the OK button to start the update. 7) The ATIWinflash utility appears and asks you to close all other applications before continuing. 8) Click the CONTINUE button when you're ready. 9) In the next few minutes, the ATIWinflash program will update your firmware. 10) During this time, your keyboard and mouse will not respond until the process is complete. 11) When your VBIOS has been successfully programmed, click the OK button to restart your system.

Download 1.Click Download Now, to download the file. 2.When the File Download window appears, click Save (Windows XP users will click Save) this program to disk and click OK. The Save In: window appears. 3.From the Save In: field, click the down arrow then click to select Desktop and click Save. The file will download to your desktop. 4.If the Download Complete window appears, click Close. The file icon appears on your desktop.
Install 1.Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R103296.EXE. 2.The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R103296. Write down this path so the executable (I.e. Setup.exe) file can be found later. 3.The Self-Extractor window appears. 4.Click OK. 5.After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it. 6.Click the Start button and then click Run. 7.Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R103296 in the Open textbox and then click OK. 8.Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
