1. Before updating the SAS controller firmware using the DUP package in a Linux system, it is necessary to upgrade the SAS controller driver.
2. Executing the SAS controller firmware DUP update while running a native Linux driver may cause the system/data volumes on the SAS controller to become inaccessible or Read-Only.
3. The recommended steps to update the SAS controller using the firmware DUP package on a Linux system to this new software level are as follows:
a. Upgrade the driver
b. Reboot the system
c. Upgrade the firmware
d. Reboot the system
4. The problem does not occur if the SAS controller FW is updated from a bootable device (non Linux environment).
5. WARNING: Flashing back to the previous 6.40 firmware will cause the controller to become inoperable.
6. There is no change to the firmware image, the version 00.10.51.00.06.12.05.00 remains the same.
7. There is no need to update systems already at version 00.10.51.00.06.12.05.00 of firmware.

1.Click "Download Now", to download the file.
2.When the File Download window appears, click "Save" this program to disk and click "OK".The Save As: window appears.
3.From the Save As: field, click the down arrow then click to select Desktop and click Save.The file will download to your desktop.
4.If the Download Complete window appears, click "Close".The file icon appears on your desktop.

Hard Drive Floppy Disk Creation
1.Get 1 blank, formatted floppy disk.
2.Double - click the new icon (it looks like a floppy diskette) on the desktop.The Self - Extractor window appears.
3.Click "Setup".A black MS - DOS window appears with a message indicating that you need 1 floppy diskette.
4.Press the [ENTER] key.A message appears prompting you to insert a blank floppy diskette.
5.Insert a floppy disk into the floppy disk drive.
6.Press the [ENTER] key.A message appears indicating that all data on the disk will be erased.
7.Press the [y]key and then press the [ENTER] key.The files are copied to the floppy diskette.If the procedure requires more than one diskette,repeat steps 5 -7 until you reach the end of the diskette set.
8.After all the files have been copied to the last floppy disk, press the [ENTER] key and the MS-DOS window closes.

Installation
1.Insert the first (or the only) disk of the set into the Floppy drive.
2.Click "Start", click "Shutdown", click "Restart", and then click "OK".
3.Follow the on-screen instructions.

Zip pack:

NOTE : Zip packs are only capable of flashing a single SAS5/E controller by using the batch file.To flash multiple controllers, please use the Webpack or Update Packages.

1.Click the "Download Now" link to download the file.

Extract Files
1.Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package
2.Click "Continue".
3.Specify the location to unzip the files.
4.Click on the "OK" button to extract files.After the files are extracted the message all files were successfully unzipped will appear.
5.Click the "OK" button to exit from the installer.

Installation
1.Copy extracted files to bootable media.
2.Reboot system to bootable media.
3.Execute the batch file as described in readme.txt to perform flash.
4.After flash is complete, remove bootable media.
5.Reboot system for changes to take effect.
