UPDATE THROUGH PARALLEL PORT: 1. Connect Dell Laser Printer 1720dn to the computer through parallel cable 2. Make sure the the printer is turned on 3. Open MS-DOS Prompt (on Windows OS) by going to Start->Run, type "cmd" 4. In command prompt, type:copy /b LE.PM.P124.updpage.fls lpt1: 5. Wait till the printer goes back to ready state. Restart the printer. 6. In command prompt, type:copy /b LE.PM.P124.updnet.fls lpt1: 7. Wait till the printer goes back to ready state. Restart the printer and start using it.
UPDATE THROUGH EMBEDDED WEB SERVER: 1. Enter the IP address of the adapter into the address field in your web browser. 2. Click the 'Configuration' button. 3. Select the 'Update Print Server Firmware' link. 4. Enter the filename or use the 'Browse' button to locate the file "LE.PM.P124.updpage.fls". 5. Click the 'Flash' button to begin the flashing process. 6. Wait till the printer goes back to ready state. Restart the printer. 7. Repeat the process for LE.PM.P124.updnet.fls
