Format Description:
This file format consists of an archive of files that may be decompressed to a directory on the hard drive. The installation can then be done from that directory.
1. Download the W2K_a01.exe to a directory on your hard drive. The file download is a self-extracting executable. 2. Execute the download file that unzips the driver files to a floppy diskette.
There are two methods for installing the Windows 2000 Server drivers: · Making a fresh installation · Adding to an existing installation
Fresh Installation Use fresh installation if you are installing Windows 2000 Server for the first time and want to include the CERC driver. Perform the following steps: 1 Boot your system and place the Windows 2000 Server CD in the CD- ROM drive. 2 The blue screen for Windows 2000 Setup displays. Press "F6". 3 At the next menu, press "S" to specify an additional SCSI adapter. 4 Choose Other from the list. 5 Insert the floppy disk that contains the CERC driver. 6 Press "Enter". 7 Select the CERC Windows 2000 driver. Press "Enter". 8 Continue with Windows 2000 Server installation.
Adding to an existing installation 1. When the controller is added to an existing Windows 2000 Server installation, the operating system detects the controller. 2. Click on Cancel on all detected devices and reboot. After you reboot, install the drivers for the new hardware. 3. The Found New Hardware Wizard screen displays the detected hardware device. Click on Next. 4. The screen used to locate the device driver for the hardware device displays. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device and click on Next. 5. The Locate Driver Files screen displays. Insert the floppy diskette with the appropriate driver disk for Windows 2000. Select Floppy disk drives in the screen below and click on Next. 6. The Wizard detects the device driver on the diskette and the Completing the upgrade device driver wizard displays the name of the controller. Click on Finish to complete the installation.
