This utility updates the firmware to version N104 for Samsung Slim CD-ROM Drives, model SN-124P, Dell part number H1099. This firmware corrects an issue found when attempting to perform an install using a copied version of Redhat Linux 3.0 AS or ES Operating Systems. During installation, if the Media Check option is selected, this test will also fail.

This utility updates the firmware version to at least N104. The firmware corrects a problem where the drive incorrectly miscalculates track size. This issue is with media that was created with out track pad option selected within the CD burning software.

Format Description:
This file contains a compressed (or zipped) set of files. Download the file to a folder on your hard drive, then double-click it to unzip the set of files. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.

Download 1. Click the "Download Now" link to download the file. 2. If the Export Compliance Disclaimer window appears, click the "I agree" link to accept the agreement. 3. When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the file to your hard drive.
Diskette Creation 1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to create the diskette set. 2. Insert a blank diskette then click Continue. 3. When prompted, repeat step 2 until you reach the end of the diskette set. Label each diskette with a disk number starting from 1. 4. After all the files have been copied to the last diskette click Finish.
Installation
NOTE: BACKUP ALL DATA BEFORE RUNNING THIS PROGRAM. Do not remove power from the devices or disturb the devices in any way while the download is in progress. Dell, Inc is not Responsible for any data loss resulting from the use of this program.
1. Insert the firmware update diskette into the floppy drive and reboot the system.
2. Follow the onscreen instructions to update the firmware. The utility scans the system to search for the Samsung drive to update, then begins the firmware download. Downloading firmware to the drive will take several seconds.
3. While the firmware download is taking place, the device activity LED on the front bezel of the CD-ROM drive will flash at a fast rate.
4. Once the utility displays "DOWNLOAD COMPLETE", remove the diskette and reboot your system. The CD-ROM drive activity LED will continue to blink at a slower rate until the system is rebooted.
