Download

1. Click the Download Now link to download the file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click Save to save the file to your hard drive.

Installation

1. Read over the release information presented by executing the ./IDRAC6_FRMW_LX_R262202.BIN --version command from the shell.
2. Download and install any prerequisites identified in the above step before proceeding.
3. Run the update by executing ./IDRAC6_FRMW_LX_R262202.BIN from the shell.
4. Follow the remaining prompts to perform the update.

A progress meter moves as the download is completed.

5) If necessary, click X in the upper right-hand corner of the Download Progress Window to close it upon completion.

6) Double click the Icon on your desktop for the newly saved file.
The Dell iDRAC Readme window appears.

2. iDRAC firmware boot can not be interrupted in uboot unless the manufacturing mode
jumper is installed.
3. To avoid the "Login Failure" error when launching Virtual Media, make sure to clear
the WebStart cache so that the new viewer is downloaded. To do so, run "javaws –viewer"
from a DOS prompt and then select and clear out all the WebStart applications in the cache.
4. For viewing the Dell signed certificate instead of the Avocent signed one:
a. Uncheck "Preserve Configuration" option while updating the firmware via GUI.
b. Clear the client java cache using the command "javaws -viewer".
5. In order to meet the factory requirements, after updating firmware using DOS
utility, it will wait for 90 seconds before returning to command prompt.
