Dell ESM Firmware, A42

The Embedded Server Management (ESM) flash utility is a tool to update
firmware(FW) to the Embedded Server Management and all devices connec-
ted to it on the system management bus (SMB). The devices currently
implemented in the utility are:
* Embedded Server Management
* System backplane
* System power supply paralleling board (PSPB)
* Hotplug
This firmware update is a non-destructive update. User data is not
affected.

Important Information

WARNING!!! Do not use the Dell Update Package version of this update on systems running OpenIPMI drivers, IMB drivers, or Windows Server 2003 R2! If you must install this update on the afore-mentioned systems, use the DOS update utility.

Fixes & Enhancements

SBP(System Backplane)
- Fixed front panel LED blinking problem with a faulty hard drive.
(when the drive recovers from failure the LED continued to blink)

PSPB (Power supplies)
- Fixed code to prevent HP OpenView NNM SE(starting with 1.52)
from printing "Power Supply Disconnected" message at power on.

Download
1. Click the Download Now link to download the file.
2. When the File Download window appears, click Save to save the file to your hard drive.

Extract Files
1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package.
2. Specify the location to unzip the files.
3. Click on the unzip button to extract files.
