Dell OptiPlex System BIOS, A13

To make this system Year 2000 Compatible, a software patch is required. Go to the File Library home page and search for "FIX2000.exe". Load program.

The following changes were made to the A12 BIOS to generate the A13 BIOS:

(Changes 1-3 apply to the SYSTEM BIOS)
1. Modified processor display speed stuff to correctly detect a P24T (Pentium OverDrive) processor, and build correct display strings for that processor and speed.
2. Modified get_floppy_media to correctly determine validity of data returned from 312/322's tape drive register for media sense bits (312 returns all 1's as it does not have media sense). Then added code algorithm to translate returned bits (on 322) to media type.
3. Changed code in ATPOST to correctly detect and signal an error when an XT-type keyboard is attached.
4. Corrected a PS/2 mouse problem when DISKETTE DRIVE was set to "Not Installed" in ROM based Setup.
5. Added support for INT 10h, function 12h, sub-function F1h, Set/Get Fequency Type function.
6. Fixed a problem where Windows would not run at 1280x1024x256 mode. Related PTR: USA-721, USA-638
(Change 7 applies to the embedded diagnostics)
7. Added support for P24T Pentium OverDrive Processor.
