As with all firmware updates, it is recommended that you backup or make copies of all important files before performing this update. This firmware update process is done entirely at your own risk. If performed correctly, there will be no loss of system or user data on the drive. However, if the firmware process is interrupted for any reason, your may not function properly.
1. Click Download File and follow the remaining prompts to download the file. 2. When the File Download window appears, click Run to unzip the download package into your hard drive. 3. The file explorer opens pointing to the directory containing the download package. Take note of the path.
Use the latest WD MZ500S TW5TH_ZPE.exe with the procedures below. 1. Run the "WD MZ500S TW5TH_ZPE.exe" 2. Select the correct folder base on operating system as below. - From the folder of win64, if the operating system is Windows x64 bit - From the folder of win32, if the operating system is Windows x32 bit - From the folder of dos, if the operating system is Dos 3. Based on operating system - For Dos, type "wd7135.exe" then press ENTER - For Windows x32/x64, right click "wd7135.bat" then select "Run as administrator" to execute the file 4.
