1. Select the symptoms your computer is experiencing below, and then click the Run Diagnostics button.
2. Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions. If you're prompted, allow Dell System Detect to run.
3. If Dell System Detect is not installed on your device, you will be prompted to download (50MB) and install it. This may take a few minutes.
4. Dell PC Diagnostics will run and attempt to fix common problems automatically.
5. When the analysis is complete, you will see your test results. More repair tasks may be recommended at that time.

1. Select a diagnostic type and click the Run Diagnostic button. Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions, then launch the program.
2. If the program isn't found, you will be prompted to download (50MB) and install it.
3. Once launched, the program will search for any hardware conflicts. After the analysis is complete, you will be shown results for all tests.
4. Dell PC Diagnostics will attempt to resolve common issues automatically. For any other issues, Dell PC Diagnostics and the blue screen analyzer will recommend additional steps.
Note: If the program is not found, you will be prompted to download (50MB) and install it. If you’re using Windows 8, run the diagnostics from the desktop. You may need to have administrator permissions on your machine.
Complete system diagnostic
The full system diagnostic analyzes your entire system to identify issues involving hardware components, software and overall performance. Dell PC Diagnostics will attempt to resolve common issues. The full system diagnostic also includes an analyzer that checks for bluescreen issues at system startup and suggests preventative actions.
Diagnose hardware
The hardware diagnostic tool analyzes your hardware to identify issues that may be affecting system performance.
Diagnose software
The software diagnostic tool analyzes your system and makes sure your anti-virus, malware and spyware software is up to date.
The software diagnostic also runs an analyzer that identifies errors in system files. Based on the results, you may choose to run a troubleshooter to address these errors.
Note: Depending on software type and volume, the software diagnostic may take up to 5-10 min.

- 1.33-gigahertz (GHz) processor or faster
- Recommended 2GB, with 512 megabytes (MB) of RAM the minimum requirement
- At least 512 megabytes (MB) of available space on the hard disk
- 1024x576 @ 120 DPI
- 768x1366 @ 120 DPI (for the Inspiron Duo)
- Internet access
- Alienware only supports Win7 64-bit
