以太网暂停帧允许暂时停止数据传输。可能出现这样的情形：发送设备的数据传输速度超过目标设备的接受能力。目标设备将暂停帧发送回源，停止发送方的传输一段时间。

暂停帧由 IEEE 802.3x 定义，并使用 MAC 控制帧来执行暂停命令。以太网暂停帧仅在全双工上受支持。
 
如果端口已超出订阅，以太网暂停帧流量控制无法确保不会出现丢失。

 

如果在接口上启用了 Priority Flow Control（优先级流量控制）(PFC)，则以太网暂停帧流量控制不受支持。
