How do I find videos?

You can either search or browse for videos by category. To search, type search terms into the search bar and click the Search button. You can limit search to specific category types by utilizing the filter radio buttons below the search bar.

Why do I not find videos for a specific product?

Select “My product” below the search bar when performing a search. This selection will filter videos for content relevant to your product. Enter your search terms and the results will be specific to your product. Please note videos will often be relevant to many different products and may not refer to your product by name.
You may also browse the video catalog based on your product. Choose “my product” then browse through the available videos using the pagination section to click a specific page number, or using the arrow buttons to advance pages.
Videos are added regularly, so if your issue isn’t addressed it may be available at a later time. To request new content, please share your feedBack or visit the Dell Community Forum for additional resources.

What are My Playlists?

Lists are collections of videos which you can create. There is a section of the video site used to save and maintain playlists. Read below for instructions on common list management questions:
Saving playlists:
  • Log into My Account, if not already logged in.
  • Don't have an account? Click the "Register & Personalize" link to create one.
  • After logging into My Account click the button.
  • Add to Playlist
  • Either create a new playlist by clicking “New List” from drop down box or add the video to an existing playlist by selecting the playlist.

  • The video will then be added to the end of the playlist.
  • Viewing playlists:
  • Log into My Account, if not already logged in.
  • Don't have an account? Click the "Register & Personalize" link to create one.
  • Select the My Playlists option to bring up a list of all the playlists saved in My Account.
  • Viewing Lists
  • From this screen, playlists can be viewed, Deleted, Saved As, Shared, or Renamed.
  • View a playlist click on the arrow to expand the section.
  • Play a video within a playlist by clicking on the video player image.
  • Editing Playlists:
  • When Delete is selected, the playlist will be removed permanently from the account.
  • When Save As is selected for a playlist, the contents will be duplicated into a new playlist with the same name and a number added to the end.
  • When Share is selected, an email link to the playlist can be sent.
  • Reorder the playlist by clicking and dragging the videos within the list.
  • Or remove specific videos from the list. Clicking on the Playlist title allows the playlist to be re-named. The new name is only saved when "Rename" is clicked beside it.
  • What is View Queue?

    The Queue is a place to temporarily save video files for quick reference during the current session. Items in the Queue are removed when navigating away from the site. This feature allows videos from search or browse to be temporarily collected for review or playing in succession. If you would like to view your video queue in the future you can save videos to a “List” and your playlist will be accessible during future sessions.

    How long is My Playlist saved?

    Queues are only saved while the site is in use. Playlists are saved in My Account. In order for this service to continue to be available for everyone, unused playlists are removed after 2 years of inactivity. Viewing or editing a playlist will reset the last used date.

    Why don't videos play?

    Videos are streamed through Adobe Flash player. If you're having trouble playing and viewing videos, we suggest you install the latest version of the Flash player. Flash Player downloads, installation instructions, and troubleshooting can be found here on the Adobe website
    Here's how to upgrade the version of Adobe's Flash Player:
  • Uninstall any older versions of the Flash player.
  • Download Adobe's official Uninstaller to remove Flash.
  • Upgrade to the most recent version of the Flash player.
  • Download the latest version of Adobe Flash from the Adobe website.
  • Exit your browser.
  • Run the install file downloaded from the Adobe Flash site.
  • Open your browser and go to http://www.support.dell.com/video/ . You should now be able to successfully watch videos!
  • For Windows Vista users:
  • If the Flash uninstall / reinstall does not work this maybe due to a Microsoft Windows Vista permissions issue.
  • Please use the Windows button at the bottom left then the search function:
  • Go to: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\.
  • Right-click on the following file: FlashUtil9b.exe or FlashUtil9e.exe.
  • Select "Run as Administrator" and install the update.
  • Restart your computer.
  • If the instructions above don't resolve the issue, please try the following:
  • Temporarily disable popup blocking software installed on your computer to test.
  • Allow http://ak.c.ooyala.com as a trusted site in your Firewall software.
  • Ensure other applications like QuickTime, iTunes, Real Player, or Windows Media Player isn't set as the default streaming application.

  • What is the Dell Video Player?

    The Dell video player is an online video location that allows Dell customers to view and share videos that have been added to the Dell library.

    Can I share the videos?

    Yes, you can. You can share an individual video by clicking the “Share” button in the lower left corner of the video. This will allow you to share the video through many of your favorite social media and link aggregator sites.
    You can also share your playlists through email. To do so, click “Lists” then clicking the button. An email with the appropriate link will be created. You may also post this link manually on your favorite media sites.

    How do I use the video navigation bars?

    Video Navigation

    1.This button is used to pause or play the video. Clicking the pause button while the video is playing will stop the video action. Clicking the play button will resume the video from where it was paused.

    6.Audio button, used to mute or change the audio levels
