Enterprise-level storage

Easily meet enterprise-level demands for backup storage and SLAs with the most affordable, densest deduplication appliance available.

Dell DR6300 Disk Backup Appliance

Easily meet enterprise-level demands for backup storage and SLAs, and alleviate budgetary constraints and complexity with the most affordable, densest deduplication appliance available today. With reliable performance that’s been tested in data centers worldwide, and scalability of up to 360TB usable capacity, the DR6300 tackles dozens of backup jobs with ease. Built on 13th-generation Dell PowerEdge servers, and using disk drives that range from 2 to 8TB, this solution packs a lot of performance in a small space.

The DR6300 is considerably faster than previous models, with 14 core processors and 128GB of memory. Like other models in the Dell DR series, the DR6300 is certified to work with 16 leading backup applications and includes protocol accelerators to boost performance.

The DR6300 uses in-line, variable block deduplication and compression technology to reduce backup storage needs by up to 15:1. You get future-proof data protection insurance since the all-inclusive, three-year license means you’ll never have to pay for future releases or features such as accelerators, replication or encryption.

This 2U, rack-based appliance is designed for larger enterprises and is available in capacities of 18, 36, 54 and 72 TB configurations. You can expand the appliance with up to four PowerVault MD1400 expansion shelves in 18, 36, 54 and 72 TB capacities, for a total capacity of 360 TB usable or 5.4PB logical. The DR6300 includes DR Rapid technologies which improve the source deduplication ingest performance using OST, Rapid Data Access (RDA), Rapid CIFS and Rapid NFS protocols.

The appliance includes software developed by the OpenSSL Project for use in the OpenSSL Toolkit.

Easy integration
Complement what you already haveby adding the DR6300 appliance to your data center to work with your existing backup application.

Lowest TCO on the market
The license fee includes replication, backup ingest protocol accelerators (OST, RDA, Rapid NFS, and Rapid CIFS), and maintenance support for three years.

Storage savings
The DR6300 can reduce backup storage costs to as little as $0.16/GB and replication bandwidth needs by as much as 93 percent.

Powerful performance
With ingest speeds up to 29 TB/hour (using RDA), you can easily meet your backup window and recovery time objectives.

Superb scalability
Add more storage capacity on the fly and scale to support 5.4 PB of logical capacity with RAID 6 storage.

Simple to deploy and manage
This purpose-built backup solution is simple to install, deploy, and manage.

Support for VTL
Support legacy backup processes by sending workloads to disk as Virtual Tape Libraries (VTLs) using NDMP or iSCSI protocols.

Better security
Encrypt data at rest in-line or post process using industry-standard 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES).

Choice of source or target deduplication
RDA (part of Dell’s DR Rapid technology plug-ins) comes standard with the DR6300, allowing you to use source-based deduplication (at the media server or backup server) to dramatically increase the ingest performance rate so backup jobs complete faster.

Advanced data protection
Built-inautomated and continuous data verification when writing data to disk helps ensure data recoverability.

Optimized replication
Enhance disaster recovery with bi-directional, many-to-one replication, cascaded replication and replication seeding.
