Q: What is SyncUP?

SyncUP is a software application that allows you to keep your files up-to-date across your supported PCs and mobile devices that are on the same WiFi network. SyncUP includes a web/cloud storage account for storage in the cloud.

Q: Why would I want SyncUP?
A: SyncUP will allow you to move those pictures that you took on your cell phone to your supported PC in your network so that you can email your family and friends those special, spontaneous moments that were previously so difficult to share. Or be able to access, while you are out-of-town, that important file or document that you left at home.

SyncUP will allow you to manage content between supported phones, tablets and PC’s on your network. SyncUP also allows file access and upload to cloud (online) storage from both supported PC and mobile.

Q: What can I do with SyncUP?
A:
Through SyncUP cloud storage, you can obtain access to your PC files on-demand, whenever and wherever you like. You just need access to a web browser. It allows you to move your music, pictures, videos, documents, and contacts to other devices via the internet or your Wi-Fi network.

Q: What do I need to use SyncUP?
A:
SyncUP comes pre-installed on your Dell Consumer PC including Inspiron and XPS with the option to order it pre-installed on Alienware. Dell Consumer tablet and Android phone users can download it through the Android Market. Once you begin the set-up process you may add other PCs (non-Dell Win7/Vista/XP OS) and Dell Android phones to your network.

Q: How do I update SyncUP?
A:
Once you accept SyncUP’s license agreement, your Dell PC, tablet or Dell Android phone will inform you of all SyncUP updates.

Q: What does it mean “to sync”?
A:
Sync is a common term that is short for synchronization. In this case, with SyncUP, you would be
able to move the same file or document to other PCs or devices and have that actual file or document stored on those different PCs or devices at the same point in time.

Q: What is “syncing”?
A:
It is the process by which you would move your music, pictures, videos, documents, and contacts to other devices via the internet or your Wi-Fi network.

Q: What is the purpose of the online storage account?
A:
The “cloud” or on-line storage account is a convenient “transfer repository” that allows you to access files remotely and share files with others.

Q: How can I get SyncUP on my Dell PC or mobile device?
A:
SyncUP comes pre-installed on your Dell Consumer PC, tablet or smartphone. You can also add it to an existing device by downloading it from the Nero website and adding it to supported PCs.
For mobile devices like phones, SyncUp will be preinstalled on any new mobile products based on Android OS. Dell Mobile devices that have “Dell Mobile Sync” will get update to “SyncUp” via Android Mkt update.

Q: What do I get with my standard SyncUP installation?
A:
Unlimited devices and 2 GB of on-line storage.

Q: What Dell products come with SyncUP?
A:
SyncUP comes pre-installed on Inspiron, XPS, and Dell Android devices. It is customer selectable on Alienware notebooks and desktops. It is not available on Latitude, OptiPlex, Vostro, and Precision.

Q: How do I sync content (PC to PC; PC to Cloud; Phone to PC; Phone to Cloud) to other devices?
A:
After you set-up your account, you will then select content that you want to sync and when you want to sync it. You can select to move your music, pictures, videos, documents, and contacts to other PCs and devices via the internet or your Wi-Fi network manually or automatically.

Q: What is the purpose of the SyncUP folder?
A:
The “SyncUP Folder” permits you to selectively move content from your primary PC or device to others on your network. Files placed in the Folder will automatically be updated when they are changed.
