OneDrive is an online storage service that lets you upload files to the cloud and then access them from a computer or phone. You can use OneDrive to store documents, notes, photos, music, videos or other types of file.

OneDrive simplifies sharing. You can send photos and files through email, send a short link to them in a text message, or post them to a social network, your website, or your blog. Straight from OneDrive.

There's also a desktop app for OneDrive you can install that creates a folder on your PC that automatically syncs with your cloud folder, so you can access your files offline.

OneDrive users receive 5 GB of storage with OneDrive for free. You can purchase additional storage if needed up to 50 GB. Can I switch to other Office 365 plans?

You can transition your account within service families, for example, from Office 365 Small Business to Office 365 Small Business Premium, or from Office 365 Enterprise E1 to Office 365 Enterprise E3 or E4. You can't transition between Office 365 service families. That means from an Office 365 Small Business plan to Office 365 Midsize Business or an Office 365 Enterprise plan or vice versa. To change from a plan in one service family to another

For example, from a Business plan to the Midsize Business plan, or from the Midsize Business plan to an Enterprise plan.

you would first have to cancel your account with the plan you currently have and then sign up for a different one.

Note: If you transition your account within a service family then your domain name is transferred to your new account. this is whether you brought your own domain name to the Office 365 account or you set up a domain name with Office 365.
Note: If you brought your own domain name to use with Office 365, that domain name will be available as soon as you sign up for your new subscription plan. If you set up a "yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com" domain name with your Office 365 account. You will have to wait 90 - 180 days before that name is available for your new subscription plan. If someone else has taken the "yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com" domain name during that time, you can't use it.

You can add the domain name you own to Office 365 to create both domain-based email addresses and a public-facing website.

Find your domain registrar or DNS hosting providerExternal Link.

To add your custom domain to Office 365, you must have access to the DNS records for that domain. If you do not have access, you should contact the person at your company that manages the company domain account.

The cloud - is the common term used to describe web-based computing services that are hosted outside of your organization. If you use cloud-based services then your IT infrastructure resides off your property (off-the-premises) and is maintained by a third party (hosted) instead of residing on a server at your home or business (on-the-premises).

In Office 365 this includes things like information storage, computation, and software. These will be located and managed remotely on servers owned by Microsoft.

Services such as webmail, mobile banking and online photo storage are cloud services that you probably already use. Because this infrastructure is located online or in the cloud, you can access it virtually anywhere, from a PC, tablet, Smartphone, or other device with an Internet connection.

Office 365 does not support Windows Vista and Windows XP.

Unfortunately it doesn't support the download and use of the latest version of Office software. You won't be able to substitute Office 2010 for the latest version. You can't connect any existing Office 2010 or Office 2007 software to the Office 365 service.

If you are running Windows Vista or Windows XP, you won't be able to install Office 365 Business Premium software and you can't replace Office 365 Business Premium software with a download of Office 2010.
