・PowerMAXのSRP(storage Resource Pool )とはUnityでいうPoolのことでしょうか？SRPを複数作成する、MultipleSRPを作成するには例外申請のような手続きが必要とお聞きしたのですが、
PMAX
はUnityみたいに複数のPOOLを作成することは基本的にはしないのでしょうか？

→SRP(storage Resource Pool )は工場出荷時に設定されるものでDefaultは一つになります。もちろん複数も可能ですがその場合はデル・テクノロジーとの相談が必要になります。Diskの種類やRaid タイプなどを使ってUser設定が可能、という点で考えるならSRPの中に存在するData Pool のほうがUnity で言うPoolに近いかもしれません。（A data pool is a collection of data devices of the same emulation and RAID protection type. All data devices configured in a single physical disk group are contained in a single data pool. Storage Resource Pool (SRP) is a collection of data pools that provides FAST a domain for capacity and performance management. By default, a single default SRP is factory pre-configured. Additional SRPs can be created with an EMC service engagement.

 

 

 

・PowerMaxでThin Device(TDEV)を作成する、というのがあるようですが、基本的なことで申し訳ございませんがそもそもTDEVとはなんでしょうか？いわゆるLUNのことでしょうか？

を作成するという作業がイメージできず・・

→TDEVはLUN相当です。

・PowerMaxでは自動プロビジョニンググループというグループを作成できるようですが、これはどういったグループなのでしょうか？

→PowerMax内のデバイスをホストからアクセス可能にさせるためのいくつかの工程（Masking ,Mapping ）をより簡単にするための機能になります。（masking後PowerMaxがホスト接続に必要なイニシエータグループなどを自動で選択（設定していれば）してくれます）

・PowerMAX環境でSYMAPIサーバというものがあるようですが、これはどういう役割のサーバでどういった環境の場合に構築する必要があるものでしょうか？

→PowerMaxへSolutions Enablerコマンドを発行するためのサーバになります。
