Alpha bricked by A08 BIOS update

I'm having the same problem as other users reported with the Alienware Alpha.

I did a clean install on a customer's machine. Dell support assistant advised me there were critical updates required (mitigations for Intel CPU vulnerabilities I imagine).

It installed BIOS A06 just fine but then the update to A08 froze the machine which blue screened and rebooted, I no longer get video output or POST.

I've reset CMOS defaults with no change.

The lights on the front of the system come on and the fan spin but no video output, no beep codes and no response to keyboard input including the num lock/caps lock lights will not toggle.

I'm pretty sure I already know the diagnosis that the BIOS update bricked this machine but I'd like to know what their options are. There's nothing like putting hours of work into a customer machine to upgrade it only to have it rendered worthless in the last 30 minutes of work.
